Alpha was engaged by a European banking client that was struggling to manage a loss-making business unit. The client required a reviewed corporate strategy and roadmap to return to profitability.

Alpha assessed the current state of the business and supported our client with:

• Establishing the underlying profitability of each business segment, devising and comparing performance metrics against peers
• Conducting a strategic options assessment to identify which parts of the business warranted further investment and which could be rationalised
• Supported the development of the firm’s overall corporate strategy, detailing the feasibility and financial impact of each strategic option to support the client’s decision-making. This included region-specific insights on relevant regulatory requirements as well as key transformation and organisational restructuring considerations
