Client Type: UK Asset Manager
Background & What Alpha Did:
A UK asset manager was looking to embark on its next phase of growth, deciding how to expand its investment capabilities, establishing an international distribution presence, and burnishing their ESG/RI credentials. In parallel, the client wanted to ensure that it could continue to deliver exceptional client service while undergoing efforts to restructure themselves for the future. Overall, the client’s operating model was experiencing three key challenges:
- An organisational structure that could not efficiently scale or effectively serve an increasingly global client base
- A linear correlation between growth and headcount, with a high cost of growth
- Inefficient legacy governance structures and processes
Alpha provided a diagnostic of the existing operating model and designed a new scalable organisational structure, supported by a clear, logically sequenced roadmap. A target operating model was designed hand-in-hand with the ExCo and positioned our client to be able to maintain efficiency while servicing a growing client base.
